FYI, I checked IHG AMB terms but I'm a little confused by the wording: "* Upgrade to a superior room will be assigned at check in. Superior room is defined as a room one category higher than purchased."
From Deluxe HV, on a paid stay, an Ambassador will indeed be upgraded to a Deluxe Junior Suite, a 1-cat upgrade
