Advice needed on LH F vs C for 2 adults and 18 month old

So I am looking to fly FRA-HKG this summer using M&M miles -- 2 adults and an 18 month old. Trying to decide between business and first, specifically:

- 2 F seats with 18 month old in lap (I know their is bassinet, and we will request, but little one will probably be too big/squirmy for it)

- 3 C seats (with 18 month old in their own seat)

** I would also consider 3 F seats, but this rarely opens up from what I can tell. Plus not sure if this is just a complete waste of miles, since little one will likely not sit still in their own seat for much of the time.

Anyone have experience traveling LH F with a small toddler? We've done CX F, which seems to work well with lap child since its so wide a seat, so you can sleep comfortably side by side. But doesn't seem like LH F is the same, is it? Plus the FA on CX are very child friendly. How's the attitude on LH? Our little one is a pretty good traveler, but still it makes a difference when the FAs are happy to see a baby.

Also -- as I really want to try the FCT regardless, I am also wondering instead of 3 C seats, I should book 1 F seat and 2 C seats, guest my wife and baby into the FCT, and then when I get on the plane, just trade with their neighbor (who doesn't like a free upgrade to first, right?). Would that work? Or would the FAs not permit this?

(I wish that LH still had their F seat with the bed on the side -- that I feel would be perfect for this situation -- but alas)

Thanks in advance for your advice.
