Points/nights will not be awarded unless there's a glitch.
In order to receive elite benefits (such as upgrade/lounge, etc.), your MR number must be attached to your reservation. Since it probably won't be initially, it's up to you to deal directly with the hotel to have them add your MR number prior to your arrival.
