Actually, never had a problem with transport in London, including the night bus. I have 2 tube lines to get me to work, and it takes me 15 minutes. I can get to most rail termini in half an hour, and airports in an hour (35 mins for LCY). I have about 40 bus routes to choose from, and 5 at night, one running at a 10-minute interval. The night buses are generally busy, clean and CCTV-secured. I use them regularly, and have only ever seen one problem (but that was just drunked bravado).
