I was able to tack a small Tumi satchel into the zipper compartment outside and use it as a conference or day bag at the destination.
Glad to know you found a solution. Otherwise our Slicks Travel Backpack would have met your requirements for a compact carry-on, capable of carrying a suit and shirts wrinkle-free, while doubling up as a day pack once you are your destination!
