Did anyone get to the bottom of what really went wrong?

The group in front of me in the CE check-in queue left the line to ask what the issue was. They were told that the "BA" system had gone down.

Chantelle, our FA told us that it was the Malta system that had gone down....nothing to do with BA. That was also the message given by the FO,Pilot as CSM. However, the other flights checking in didn't seem to have the same problem.

She also said that they were lucky to get to Malta more or less on time due to an evacuation in LGW just prior to their departure.
