Major improvment regarding ATH bus boarding now (nowadays it seems the majority of A3 flights from ATH are boarded by bus).
They introduced proper priority lanes, just as they do upstairs when boarding by bridge. After initial priority boarding finishes, the lane is moved a little bit to the side, so that most space can be used by other passengers. However, when I queued at the priority lane later during boarding the agent quickly waved me to the front.
You can now catch the first bus and find enough bin space, even if you arrive at the gate after boarding commenced. Until now, the downstairs bus boarding gates really were a zoo.
They also carefully check if you're entitled to priority boarding. My BP was issued at an outstation that used a different (the old) layout, so the agent didn't find the status at first. Didn't have a problem after I pointed him to the A3*G section on the BP.
All in all a nice improvment (IMHO) that (likely) doesn't cost A3 a thing.
