If you can though, I would suggest doing it as laid out above in this thread. You drive both cars, the first one with you as the driver and driver #2 riding. Then you get out and grab the second car and drive it out. It eliminates running into a difficult or confused gate agent that doesn't understand why you aren't driving.

I would also go out a different booth if you can, that way you deal with two different agents.
