Hi,

I will soon fly AKL-PEK-LHR and my friend MNL-PEK-NYC such that we overlap for a few hours at PEK. I'd like him to bring a suit case for me from MNL to bring to LHR. So far, so good. I wonder which of the following is or isn't possible.

• He checks in the suit case in MNL and has it routed to LHR (switch of passengers in PEK)
• He short-checks the suit case in MNL to PEK and I have it relabeled there to go to LHR at the PEK transfer desk
• He short-checks the suit case in MNL to PEK and claims it in PEK, hands it over to me and I check it in to LHR. I've already confirmed with CA this is possible but we both need to go landside through immigration.

Can he pass through immigration more than once within 24 hours on the 72 hour visa-free entry? His layover is almost 24 hours and knowing he is a bit of a cheapskate I think he might try to sleep at the airport. The flight from Auckland arrives at 4 in the morning. His flight leaves at 10:30.
