Increasing rates when booking multiple rooms
I noticed that when I try to book 2 rooms, the price of each room is higher when booking just 1. When looking for 1 room the rates that pop up are the members' privilege rates which are 5% or 10% cheaper than the non member rate (accor also refers to this as OnlyOn). However, when I fill in that I want to book 2 rooms only the non member rates are appearing. I found this for multiple European cities, both during week days and weekends.
To illustrate what I mean the following booking example:
London 2-3 may. I’m talking about the hotels list when you enter a city and date on the accor homepage which depicts the cheapest rates of each hotel sorted by distance.
1 room in Novotel London Waterloo 108 GBP (it states member's privilege rate, non member rate: 120 GBP)
2 rooms in Novotel London Waterloo 120 GBP (member's privilege rate disappeared now).
I would expect that when 1 room is 108 GBP, I could book 2 for 216 GBP, however 2 rooms cost 240 GBP. I can’t see why the members' privilege rates are not available when I try to book 2 rooms. Even in the event that the members' privilege rates are only available for 1 room per booking you would at least expect that the first room (London example) would cost 108 GBP and the second 120 GBP so total of 228 GBP. However, this is not the case and I also never found that in the terms of conditions so I simply can’t see why I can’t book two rooms for 216 GBP
So I got two questions:
1 Does anyone know why it is not possible to book 2 rooms with the members' privilege rates?
2 Has anyone ever tried to make 2 separate bookings of 1 room in order to book 2 rooms at the members' privilege rates?
