It is a long day but if the weather is nice, then it'll be worth it.

I would rather stop in Lausanne then Vevey, eat there and then take the bus directly to Chateau de Chillon and back to Montreux and train back to Geneva.

But only with nice weather. Otherwise: Geneva-Lausanne-Bern-Zürich and fly from there.
