My comment hardly left room for imagination.

Case in point, not relevant for myself out of OSL, is that not a single city in Norway except OSL has connection to ARN in time for LAX flight. Had the flight been ex-CPH on the other hand all bigger cities would have been well covered with connections. Now I appreciate there are several reasons for SAS wanting to open new long haul destinations from other hubs than CPH, the relationship has been rather cool lately there, we see CPH with the highest fees in Scandinavia and of course influx of various LCC and ME3.
Sure, SK will need to update and improve their Nordic routing schedule in order to facilitate the new route. Something they failed horribly at SVG-IAH and which contributed to its demise, by not being able to connect from a very large number of cities before the flight left. The only ARN-SVG flight each day was operated after the SVG-IAH departure making the very unique flight a useless one for those passengers.

Sure people can overnight for a holiday to catch a long haul (but forget business travel), but why bother if you can avoid it from CPH. There is also the point of KLM covering TRD, BGO, SVG, AES, KRS in addition to OSL. So much easier than SK ex-ARN due to the timing. Just saying, the LAX flight works great for Sweden, CPH and probably rest of DK and OSL. Is Germany and other relevant EU feed as bad? Lets see how this works out, I expect there will be a lot of Now or Never and other great deals for LAX route.
People have different preferences, you can get to LAX directly from any major city in Europe and there are dozens of subjective preferences for choosing an airline and flight there.

Your argument with the Norwegian cities listed, doesn't add up. Each of them can be booked on the SK website with a same-day connection in ARN.

06:10 - 07:05 SK335 Trondheim - Oslo
07:45 - 08:45 SK482 Oslo - Stockholm, Arlanda (Terminal 5)
09:55 - 12:15 SK939 Stockholm, Arlanda (Terminal 5) - Los Angeles (Terminal B)

06:10 - 07:00 SK236 Bergen - Oslo
07:45 - 08:45 SK482 Oslo - Stockholm, Arlanda (Terminal 5)
09:55 - 12:15 SK939 Stockholm, Arlanda (Terminal 5) - Los Angeles (Terminal B)

06:15 - 07:05 SK4002 Stavanger - Oslo
07:45 - 08:45 SK482 Oslo - Stockholm, Arlanda (Terminal 5)
09:55 - 12:15 SK939 Stockholm, Arlanda (Terminal 5) - Los Angeles (Terminal B)

etc..

I'm also confident that in case of delays or cancellations, SK will have an easier time getting you back to remote Norwegian cities than KL or alternatives. I'm also certain that this route will be very successful in the same way the success of the CPH-SFO route was highly predictable. The US west-coast is highly underserved from Scandinavia and I'd be more worried about SK having a harder time filling flights to hubs like ORD than to these locations.
