The issue being looked at here is that for a lot of people, me included, this represents a service downgrade that is a reflection of the airline's declining standards. I'd be equally vocal if they decided to stop serving food, especially when their key competitors continue to do so.
Because people enjoy having an alcoholic drink in the air and are disappointed when that is no longer an option, doesn't mean they have alcohol issues, although it is entirely possible. What I don't get is why this is an appropriate place to bring that up.
