"You're the mother, you're in control of whether there is kicking or not," she replied, surprised, "Not on a 4.5 hour flight, I can't."

What - she's only a mother for 3hours of the kid's life?! I like children, but this is b.s. It IS a parent's responsibility to control this, and if not, then a pleasant word to the parent if they're not doing it, and if not then a pleasant word to the flight attendant....

PS - I'm late, one of those moods ..parent says above, you go (ever so loudly) - oh my God, what on Earth are you going to do?!!! You can't even handle/deal/control your child for 4.5hours & you have another 15years; you poor things!!! (wild look around) - folks, there's a Major problem here - these poor folk need help; they can't handle their THREE year old for 4.5hours, what on earth are they going to do for 15 years - any suggestions - for now or then? Please, please help them. Could someone suggest an agency that could help keep the child under control? Sweet smile at them & sit down, knowing the child will not kick for the rest of the flight

Ok, mild episode over. Back to my original paragraph above.
