I did the sole proprietor, $0 income, 0 employees, SSN sign-up route about 3 months ago. App was put on hold and got a call 2 days later...she asked to confirm my name and address then put me on hold. Came back 2 minutes later to say congrats. Was planning on saying I am starting to sell stuff on eBay if she asked (which is true). So, to answer your question...for me it was very easy.
