The reason the cost of a 30K flight is almost negligible is because clients and investors are our top priority and it is part of providing good service that we be there to serve their needs (arriving after they've solved an issue defeats the purpose of me going there), it doesn't make sense to waste precious hours taking a different timed flight save $$$ if those costs can be recouped down the road, especially if I can spend precious hours solving problems instead of worrying about how to save my company money. You need to understand the opportunity costs and the worth (not value) of convenience.

Corporate travel doesn't always make sense to the masses of the world, then again travelling in F in full fare probably doesn't make sense to 99.99% of the world anyway. But there is a crowd of people willing to pay 30K for a flight and that's why they exist.
