This wasn't about a specific trip - I was just daydreaming and thinking about how difficult it would be for a city like Anchorage to function as an international hub for foreign passengers to transit through. Since I never connected internationally myself, I was curious how it was handled.
It's very easy from the airport layout perspective, the only reason you have not seen a connection process like this in the United States is that the government wants everyone on US soil cleared through US immigration and customs, period, even if they are only connecting to another flight.
