I confess to taking a large bath towel from a hotel as a souvenir. I would not have taken it had it been a plain towel as opposed to having the hotel name and logo on it.

Perhaps this towel is now a collector's item, the hotel name is no longer around and the hotel building is now under a different name.

There are other times when I make some although not heroic effort to return something such as a towel to an office or desk or employee where the item looks like it would be discarded or easily pilfered if left where it was.
