I forgot to say that the booking I am talking about is for international travel where there is more than four hour connection in the US (originating in the US) - let`s say
IAH-EWR, then stop 4+ hours

some agents tell that such booking is not valid because it doesn`t comply with "4 hours" rule.
Well, the link I did post earlier links to the UA CoC. There it states that the 24 hr rule applies to international itins. I reckon that LH must have something similar in place...

Have you tried to call the German M&M number? Maybe you get a better answer from them.
