While I generally fall into the school of thought that hotels are hospitality businesses and we are the customers, and thus they should be happy to hear our needs - if you're asserting that there is no such thing as too trivial a request to bother a GM or such over, well, I'm not sure I entirely agree. I can't have an opinion here because the OP didn't state their need, but in past threads of this sort folks have been wanting to go straight to the GM for more towels on arrival, etc., and I'd just be a bit hesitant to advocate that...
