When I was in NZ last (2002) it cost about 50 cents to buy a NZ dollar, and today it's around 68 cents, so we've lost quite a bit of ground there. The Australian dollar has also been down in the 50-cent range around that time, and this week it was up to 78 cents to buy one, the highest I've seen it in over 10 years of travel. It just isn't cheap to be an American traveling these days, no matter what the country you're heading to.
