We stayed in Amandari, Alila Villas Ulutawu and Amankila in December (over Christmas) 2013 and I preferred Alila Villas out of all 3. The villa/room is amazing and the personal butler service was exceptional; I thought the food was the best out of all 3 resorts too. However, there are not many activities to do there and you always are made to feel more special at Aman from all the staff, whereas at Alila you're made special by your butler. The service was still great from everyone else, but not up to the Aman standard.

Interestingly I was chatting to the GM of Amanjiwo just a few months ago and he mentioned how much he liked it there too when he stayed last year. I'd hope it has not deteriorated massively in 2 years, as I thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
