I've stayed at 5 or 6 of the nicest properties in Rome and the Cavalieri is my favorite of them all.
I have to agree.

This was a great hotel. And, unlike an earlier post, i would pick this over a central hotel. We were in the suite and the rooms to the upkeep to the amazing spa and pools to the service were all top notch. We didn't use any points but it was way worth it. Also, in the height of summer, their pools (great outdoor and indoor) were soo refreshing. The drive down to the sites were not an issue at all. There private MB air conditioned buses were great and efficient during our week there. All sites were approx 15-20 min drive by taxi and the price was very reasonable. And as mentioned, even if you were in central area, there is a lot of walking that would take longer to get to the sights.
In the evenings, it was truly nice to come back away from the hectic day and sit at the outdoor lounge with a glass of wine, overlooking the pools and the entire central Rome, while listening to live musicians singing Nat King Cole!
