Update on this: I finally got around to calling SQ for seats. The agent told me we need to call if the tkt was booked by UA. (Although she said we always had to do this which I know is not true). No more Book the Cook
I'm in the same situation, although for flights booked with Miles&More. I was able to pull up the reservation with the Amadeus confirmation number last year and select seats, but not anymore.
Was it not possible to "book the cook" over the phone?
