Did anyone experience LAX arrivals Sunday night Jan 4?
It was complete mayhem after 10 pm.
In their infinite wisdom, the powers that be had decided to prevent cabs ( and any other vehicle for that matter) from using the lower outer lanes on the arrivals level. They had decided to remove the concrete barriers separating the inner/outer rings, and would not reopen the outer ring until all barriers were removed.
Result: thousands on people stuck on the lower level, unable to be be picked up, unable to catch a cab or a bus. I'd guess two hours to get a cab.
It was ridiculous. Why they had to do this on a peak day of return from holiday, instead of 3 am, I don't understand.
Incoming traffic on Century was backed up to the 405.
This nonsense will eventually kill travel, even for the more resolute amongst us.
