Yes, please don't try doing a DIY booking extra seat online - it rarely works!

Call Reservations to book. Pricing is generally twice the fare component with only one set of taxes fees and charges, as long as you are having the EXST both ways and on all connecting flights. It gets more complicated if you only want it one way, or for example, only on shorthaul Y legs when connecting to longhaul J. Not impossible but complicated. I'd avoid trying codeshare flights too...

Anyway, EXST can be booked for cabin baggage in Y/W/J (and probably F but that seems excessive!) and for comfort only in Y/CE, since the armrests don't go up in W/CW/F. Why do people want EXST for cabin baggage? Cellos, valuable guitars and big sports trophies, etc. No, you don't get extra baggage allowance, an extra meal, or extra Avios.
