If I'm reading all the other posts here correctly, AMEX Canada has cracked down and won't give you repeat bonuses anymore unless you apply via referral link. So if your wife doesn't get the bonus maybe have her refer you, then cancel her card, and then you refer her back. Same goes for SPG... make sure you get in on a referral. Means you won't be able to get a rebate through a portal (GCR, etc.) when you apply but at least you'll get the bonus again.
