To answer some of your questions

1)Yes...everyone is informed that the job requires 90-100% travel.
2) We only have 3 people traveling out of California. I try to keep them within the region ...so we don't have the overtime issue.
3) 4x10 is not possible....these contracts have been in place for a very long time...maybe upon re-negotiation..but not now.
4) One poster say's he doesn't like it when he travels 3 Sundays in a row..arriving home Friday night at 10PM..but he does it..it's part of the game.....well.....this is much more than that....some are going on 30 Sundays in a row....some Sunday morning...some Sunday evening.

I'm getting the feeling that most of you are not compensated for time away from family....I am surprised to say the least. I'm particularly interested in those that spend A LOT of time away from home.
