So by these rules you would be entitled to a free change. Maybe call the EY desk in your country to double check and find out what alternatives there are. Then call AA to ask for the itinerary you discussed with EY.
Right, that's my problem, there really is no other options, I'm stuck with an overnight no matter what now. Unless they are willing to open up space on the JFK-AUH A380, I'm not really interested in changing flights, just wondering who, if anyone other than me, would be responsible for hotel costs.
