Very cool.
I am back in this hotel again for a 3rd week (checked out Friday, back in Sunday). They confirmed my DSU without issue.
Some notes about the property
1) Due to the popularity of the pool, they have required guests to tap their RFID room keys to their newly installed elevator access control pads. They just replaced them over the weekend with new RFID enabled ones
2) The Hyatt signage outside, is in the font of the Hyatt parent company, and is being replaced to look similar to the Hyatt Centric in South Beach/etc
3) They are replacing all of the TV's in the hotel with nicers one I am told.
I was in 322, which is a great suite to stay in, although this week I am in 722, which is even nicer. They include a iMac in-room, in addition to more decorations.
Honestly, this property rocks. Especially if you are going to be in town for the convention center, performing arts center, or downtown shopping - it is awesome. The area around the hotel is some of the most pedestrian friendly areas in all of So-Cal if you ask me.
If the Pike Outlet restaurants don't float your boat, just walk over and up Pine street, for a extensive restaurant selection.
The hotel GM has reached out over my last stay and assured me that there will never be an issue with DSU's again.

The rooftop pool area was pretty cool, although there was no service there when we went up. I suspect that during the summer, the area will be fairly busy with families.
We received $20 pp breakfast credit, and the food was tasty. Our bill came out a little over $40, and the front desk wrote off the additional amount without my asking.
Hotel is situated in the Pike Outlet stores, and it appears that many of the places are still under construction or opening. There also is a theater adjacent, which kept lots of folks around the area into the evening.
Given the choice between the HR Long Beach property and this one, I likely would stay here again.
