Name mismatch BAEC vs flight ticket
Hey BAers
Have any of you any experience with slightly incorrect names and earning Avios on OneWorld partner flights
I booked a flight on LAN via Orbitz. Supposing my middle name is Cornelius, Google Chrome autocompleted my middle initial on Orbitz's website and I thought nothing of it.
On my Orbitz confirmation it shows as Johnny C Colombia, but on my LAN ticket, presumably because SABRE does not have the capacity to add a second name or middle initial, my ticket is in the name of JOHNNYC COLOMBIA
I just checked my BAEC saved advanced passenger information and it does say Name Johnny Cornelius, Surname Colombia.
Is this something that will credit automatically or will I need to chase Orbitz up about this? I am just wondering how much time to waste. Supposing it proves to be a complete bind asking Orbitz to chase this up with LAN and it does not credit automatically, is this something that BAEC will rectify quite quickly given it is obviously me that took the flight?
Thanks for any light anyone can shed on this. I guess this is the same as situations where Iberia adds one's surname twice and that still seems to work without much fuss.
