It seems pretty complicated getting a China visa for just a MR. (needing to see the airline ticket and hotel booking). ugh.
It takes about 2 weeks for a visa, and it costs quite a bit ($140 + 70+ in visa services). If you need it faster you can pay more for quicker service. You have to go in-person to the embassy, or pay a visa service.
