Checked in yesterday and overall like this hotel. However, I have a bit of an odd situation which I am not sure if it was handled correctly. I booked two rooms with points and applied a suite upgrade to one of the rooms which cleared 5 days prior to arriving. I thought since the suite came with lounge access, they would grant lounge access as the Platinum benefit to the non-suite room. In fact the checkin agent said it was a good question, and after consulting the manager it was denied, without any real reason. Am I expecting too much? Also, as a Platinum we were not offered an option for breakfast in the restaurant, and when we called down this morning to ask, we were told no breakfast in the restaurant for Platinums. Once again, am I expecting too much given the suite has lounge access?
I guess it all boils down to an excellent stay at the Hyatt in Melbourne prior where as a Diamond both rooms got the Diamond benefits. Any thoughts on this would be most appreciated, as I am still struggling with staying with SPG or concentrating on Hyatt.
