I've had 5 return trips from European cities to SYD in the last 15 months in J or F on EY - so 9 sectors (as one was VA codeshare). Never had a bad meal. The Vietnamese-style barramundi out of SYD two weeks ago was very good. On 3 of the 4 sectors in F , the chef stopped by for a chat both at the start of the flight and after the meal. Had one of the best in-flight steaks ever on EY in F ( better than many cafes I've been to over the years, in fact). On the last AUH-SYD sector some of the breakfast options weren't available when I woke up, personally I wasn't bothered but if it kept happening I imagine I would feel differently. Having regularly stayed in 5* resorts over the years , and being realistic about the limitations of in-flight catering, my consistent experience with EY catering has been good. Unlike their call centres.

(I don't eat much bread by choice so I can't comment on the steak sandwich or other breads)
