I did a site inspection of the St. Regis and found the hard product to be leaps and bounds better than the Westin. Additionally, the lobby lounge had live music and great decor. It had a nice sense of place.

I would go for a smaller boutique property in Rome, especially if this is the last stop on your trip. Always best to end on a high note.
