One word of caution: A revenue ticket and a award ticket are different reservations and cant' easily be linked. The process of change is different for each and if anything happens (delay, cancellation, rebooking), you need to handle each one individually.
Happened to my wife (award) and myself (revenue) last year: it took hours on the phone to get a short leg rebooked, especially if partner airlines are involved,
It might worth discussing this with the booking entity first and make sure the reservation stay together no matter what happens.
