I really like Berlin as a city to visit - loads of museums, all the history, good food, art, and while getting expensive there's still cheaper bits around.

Plus, you can take a train that goes on a ferry to get there, which is quite cool

Otherwise, if you want more outdoorsy stuff, then Bergen and the Fjords are great.
