So I am trying to figure out how to arrange a slightly complicated travel situation. Myself and my 2 year old will be going LAX to IST, I will be buying a revenue ticket since this trip is connected to work, so it'll be paid for. But I want to buy my child's ticket with my United Miles, preferably on Turkish Airlines, since they have the best route to IST. Additionally, my husband will be buying a revenue ticket, but his trip is a bit more complicated. His first leg is LAX to IST, but he will only stay with us a few days before he heads to CAI an then back to LAX. Ideally, we want the LAX to IST to be on the same flight(s).

I have been looking online for revenue tickets that match the travel awards available on United and can't find any matches. Additionally, I am unable to get the awards ticket for my child without booking an awards flight for myself at the same time. Would it work if I make him look older and then call them later and change his birth year?
