For me it was a large size DHL box.
I once checked a squash racket (in soft-sided case). I had to take it to the outsize baggage belt at T5 because it was too light to go through the normal system. They had to put it into a tray.
It came out at JFK unharmed, except that it had some unidentified liquid spilled on it.
