I've experienced SD's telling certain Y passengers with very tight connections to go sit in open J seats for landing so they could get a head-start to their connection.

I've never seen any "status" passenger treated any differently than a non-status passenger onboard in Y. I have my doubts whether your average FA even has much knowledge about the Altitude program.
