OK, just got off the phone with Choice Privileges reservation at 800-521-2121. The agent was able to book the reward room for me in fewer than 3 minutes (very very fast) without a problem. This despite the fact that the reward night wouldn't come up on the website for that particular motel. I didn't prod him on the difference mainly because I just wanted to get the reservation and not have to use 25,000 Marriott points to stay at another location. I'll likely follow up with Choice via email to try to understand their blackout room policy, if any, at a later date. If something else already knows something though, please let us know.
