I agonized between Cour des Loges and La Tour Rose for a visit last September. I was happy with my choice of La Tour Rose; each room is decorated in fabric from a different silk house in Lyon. They have a superb restaurant, and I had a marvelous meal. Also, they left freshly baked madeleines in my room at night.

I walked into Cour des Loges, which is about 2-3 blocks from La Tour Rose. It has an ultra trendy lobby, which opens immediately into the restaurant area. Either of these are strong choices.

Check your Michelin red guide for Lyon - you'll find both of these hotels listed.
