I saw your post and had a chuckle at it. I just changed an upcoming trip I had, AA2319 9:10AM departure MD80 for AA2311 8:35AM departure 777. As I was already in first class, I took seat 2J for me. The other earlier flight is the 788, but that is a bit early for me. Regarding your post, look at it this way, if you do not fly on the 777, the other options are MD80, with no IFE, but bigger comfy seats in F (IMO), 738 with the reticulated torture chamber seats, ugh, I dread these planes, or the once daily 788, that has mixed feelings on seats. Seems like a no brainer for me. I'm actually excited that ORD is now getting more wide bodies, in particular 77W to LHR, 777 to DFW, MIA, LAX (I think)
