1. I should be able to book on SAS and get my UA points and enjoy my UA Platinum status right?

2. what's the best way to book a companion's ticket using UA miles? I doubt I'll get the direct SAS flights using the UA website for award travel. Do I have to call? Do Plat MP get any benefit?
