Can anyone help please?

I have been desperately trying to sign up my sone for a mileage plus account for a few days now, but it just won't enroll him - gets hung up on trying to validate our address. It won't let me NOT enter a region/state (although it doesn't have a red asterisk next to it for UK sign-ups). But every one that I try, it states that it can't validate our address. We live in Bath, I have tried BANES (technically Bath is in "Bath and North East Somerset"), Somerset and Avon (used to be in Avon) - none work. I have also tried the in-laws address in St Johns Wood, London. I also get "cannot validate address" when putting "London" or "Greater London" for region.

The system seems to be trying to be too clever for its own good... Can someone suggest a work around to open a new account please?
