We arrived late (1am) at the HGI downtown last week and were told at check in that the hotel was overbooked and we were being walked to the Hilton Mission Valley 2 miles away and that the HGI would pick up the tab.
I booked the HGI as a part reward (12000 points + $60) obviously we didn`t pay the 60 bucks but will the points automatically credit back to my account or is it just the cash part they cover. I did ask at the hotel but the receptionist wasn't quite sure and manager wasn`t available before we left as we were in a bit of a rush. Any ideas?
You should get the points back too. Give the property whatever time you feel is appropriate (I'd say one week) and if the points do not appear back in your account contact HH and ask them to research the situation. You may also be due additional compensation, so be sure to ask what should have been expected.
