Unfortunately, this depends a bit on your ethnicity. Many places have policies that "bachelors" (viz. single/groups of South Asian men without any women accompanying them) will not be permitted entry, or else treated like pariahs. You are less likely to encounter this at high end joints, but basic casual sit-down restaurants at malls, hotels, etc.. will regularly enforce this policy.
