I just heard about the "World Elite" trick, unfortunately the AAdvantage Platinum I opened on 4/1/2015 says "World", it never got converted to a "World Elite".

I might be willing to become a guinea-pig and downgrade, just need to find a way to meet minimum spend for the new card, now that Serve is gone.
Regardless of the action you take with your current card, you are ineligible for the signup bonus until October at the earliest (18 months since opening your current card), so don't be in too much of a rush to be a guinea pig.
