No, North Checkpoint is at the AS/AA end of the terminal and exits into the rotunda near Ike's and Starbucks and C, D, and E concourses. Checkpoint 6, near F and G, is becoming South Checkpoint. On a map they are actually northeast and southwest, but that would be more confusing, especially with Southwest Airlines.
It's funny that you said this because the AA/AS end of the terminal has always felt south to me. I had to look at the airport on a map and reconfigure my own geographic sense when I learned the new name.
