Back Again
Ah Dallas. My home of five years, and a city I have grown to love. While it was sad to move away, I am quite lucky that work takes me back there fairly often.
My digs for my few weeks in Dallas is the Hyatt Regency Dallas, located at western edge of downtown. Since my stay was fairly lengthy, I decided to use a couple of Diamond Suite Upgrades for some extra room. And I certainly got some extra room.
The room faced west of downtown and overlooked the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge.
Just like when I go back to my hometown of New Orleans, there a couple of places in Dallas I always hit up while visiting. One of my favorite spots to eat in Dallas is Dunston’s Steakhouse. It’s a no thrills old fashioned steakhouse that offers decent steaks at decent prices. I particular enjoy the wood burning grill, which is located at the end of the main dining room.
One of my other favorite places to eat at is Good2Go Taco, located near the White Rock Lake in east Dallas. My favorite here are their excellent breakfast tacos. They’re large, well filled, and very tasty. Get the Honey Bear and the Paris, TX. You won’t be disappointed. As an added bonus, there’s a coffee stand inside the Good2Go which serves locally roasted Cultivar coffee, which is also excellent.
During my last week in Dallas, my aforementioned beer nerd friend brought me to a newer place in Arts District north and west of Downtown called the Meddlesome Moth. They have a great selection of beers and some interesting menu items such as the beef bone marrow, which was actually pretty tasty.
